I have an emachines laptop with mouse pad issues?

hi, my mouse pad kinda disconnects every 5 minutes or so, its not a power button issue because the power button for the mouse pad required you to hold "Fn and press F7", every so often my mouse pad will just either disconnect or act like theres two fingers on the pad trying to control the mouse which there isnt OR it will not react to anything on the first swipe of the pad but after that i can only describe the mouse is being awekward, the only way i can get it to work is to either wait until it wants to work, or by hitting the pad with my finger really hard, is anybody else having this issue? my laptop is about a year old now but its in great condition, ive never dropped it and its very clean
